Cancellation Policy
In the event that you cancel a confirmed booking, the following penalties will generally apply:

* 20% of the total rental amount will be forfeited if the cancellation is made more than 60 days before the start of the rental period
* 50% of the total rental amount will be forfeited if the cancellation is made between 30 and 60 days before the start of the rental period
* 100% of the total rental amount will be forfeited if the cancellation is made between 1 and 29 days before the start of the rental period.		Rates Exclude

* For rentals beginning more than 60 days after the date of your booking request - a deposit of 50% of the total rental amount is payable.

With a name that conjures up an atmosphere of peace and quiet, Tarshush is brilliantly enhanced by its magical location. The sea is right at your fingertips; waves slosh over swirling fish-filled rock pools just below the villa’s boundary and wash onto the soft sand of the beach which extends to the temple-topped headland at the end of picturesque Unawatuna Bay. From the three double bedrooms and the living areas where cushions and sofas invite you to truly unwind, the sounds of the sea fill your ears whilst the deep blue of the ocean, the verdant strip of lawn and the vibrant blush of sunset bring flashes of colour to the monotone interiors whose uncluttered, minimal appearance is a complement to the villa’s location and tropical design. Tarshush is furnished with only the bare essentials - no TVs, stereos or even artwork - to provide freedom from conventional distractions as an aid to complete and utter relaxation.

Although this tranquil seaside villa is sun-drenched throughout the day, it truly comes into its own as the day draws to a close and the molten sun sets in a spectacular fashion over the sea. There’s a western-facing balcony with cushioned seating specifically designed for guests to enjoy this natural phenomenon, which culminates in a twinkling rejuvenation of the bay as the candle-topped tables, fairy lights and neon signboards of the rustic restaurants and hotels dramatically begin to illuminate the night.

An inner courtyard blooming with tropical flowers distances the road from the villa whose entrance is via a black wooden gate. The blue of the ocean is in view even as you cross this courtyard and look down through the villa.

The expansive, open-plan living and dining room houses only the most essential furnishings; a dining table for eight and two long black sofas with a coffee table bridging the gap between them. Fans cool this area whilst a sea breeze enters through swivelling glass doors that display excellent views of the sea. Adjacent to the living room is a kitchen equipped with fridge/freezer, mini oven and hotplates, kettle, toaster, cookware, crockery, glasses and cutlery.

A few steps down from the living room is a covered verandah with second dining table (seats six) and wonderful sea views that extend into a small grassy garden furnished with sunbeds. From here, steps lead down to the rock pools whilst a staircase curving to the right takes you up to the three double bedrooms on the first floor; each opening onto a wide sun-drenched balcony with westerly-facing cushioned seating and expansive sea views.

Four-poster double beds draped in mosquito netting take pride of place in the bedrooms whilst exposed timber ceilings and grey cement floors reflect the villa’s tropical modern aesthetic. Each bedroom is air conditioned, though ceiling fans are also available. The two larger bedrooms both have writing desks and cushioned sofas that face directly out to sea through sliding glass doors. Each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin.

Tarshush is staffed by two houseboys who keep the villa clean and tidy. They provide breakfast every morning and can also prepare other meals given sufficient notice (provisions on guest account). Should you prefer to self-cater, the houseboys will happily head to the markets to do your grocery shopping for you. Many restaurants can be reached on foot (including one right next door that is renowned for its delicious Sri Lankan rice and curry) as can a selection of shops selling basic provisions and souvenirs. With Unawatuna on your doorstep and plenty of other beaches and attractions within easy reach, you can enjoy activities including diving, snorkelling, temple visits, tea factory tours, whale watching, rainforests treks and cookery classes. Galle, its fabulous fort and most of these attractions are only a short tuk-tuk ride away.

Tarshush is located in Peellagoda right beside Sun ‘N Sea Hotel overlooking the deep blue sea and the verdant temple-topped headland of beautiful Unawatuna Bay, whose facilities are only a few minutes’ walk away either along the beach or the main road. Since the traffic on this stretch of road tends to be busy, care must be taken when exiting from the main gate. Swimming in the sea below the villa is good here at all times of the year however to get to the beach you do need to hop across a few stones. There are a few shops just 50 - 150m from the villa - including a store selling wine, beer and spirits and a communications shop with internet, fax and telephone.
