Tucked away in a secluded alcove of Megalochori, within a short stroll from the village square, Villa Io is an ideal hideaway providing peace and privacy. Built into the volcanic rock, the villa once served as the village school to the local children. Today the interior is postcard-perfect, white with beautiful arched interiors. The outdoor area is private and the hand-laid cobbled courtyard complemented by a glistening pool, provides the perfect outdoor space for lazing around on hot summer days.

The layout of the villa takes the form of traditional Santorini houses. As the village of Megalochori is surrounded by vineyards, the villa continues this theme with unusual light fittings fashioned out of the basket-like vines.

The farm-style kitchen is large and fully equipped with an antique dining table and beautifully crafted chairs and modern appliances. Cutlery and crockery are housed in an ornate antique dresser, adding an old-world charm to the kitchen.


Through an arched passageway, leading from the kitchen, you will find the comfortable living room with doors leading out to the courtyard and pool.
