Idyllic private villa

We have been to Samui 6 times over the last 7 years and have stayed in different hillside villas each time (mostly in Bophut). This is a brilliant Villa giving you all the luxuries, comfort and privacy that we were looking for. Great value for money and close to all faciltiies and attractions including the Fisherman's Village and Chaweng Beach

Fantastic place to stay on Koh Samui

We stayed for 11 days,, 2 adults and two children (13 and 15 ), in Villa Samprasada. The communication with Rob in Amerika and Miss O on Koh Samui was perfect.!! All our questions where answered very fast. On Koh Samui Miss O took care of all our needs very fast! We also can highly recommend to hire the car from Miss O.!. It was clean and in a top condition.The villa lays in the hills so it makes sence to have a car or a some other vehicle. The house was so beautifull! Three times a week a nanny came to clean it. The living room was cozy and the kitchen was fully equiped. There was a bqq as well. The pool was great t and there were even a few air mattress to relaxe on.We liked it very much that there were many palms en plants arround the pool. The bedrooms were large and the mattresses were perfect. We wanted to take them home with us ;! Every second day we made trips to interessting places. Fishermans Village takes about 10 Minutes. but also other toerist attractions weren´t far away. Like snake farm, big buddha. Please take a look at silver beach! Verry nice! There are a few supermarkets near by where you can get everything you need. We loved to stay here! Next time wenn we will come to Koh Samui we will stay here again!! Thanks Rob!

Paradise in the bophut hills

A lovely place in a lovely setting, was wonderful to be able to escape the hustle and bustle of the samui streets each day. We quite happily stayed in a couple of days, relaxing by the pool. House has all you need and is beautifully laid out with some lovely furnishings and ornaments inside and out. We arranged a pick up,drop off to the airport with Oh as well as a reasonably priced car rental. Easy as. Thanks for checking in to see if we were settled in Rob, and thanks for sharing the villa, was wonderful to be able to experience it. Cheers

An Unforgettable Villa!

What a wonderful way to arrive at Rob's; chauffeur driven by Oh, his villa manager, and your font of all knowledge for Koh Samui should you need it! The drive to Rob's is a short distance from the airport. As you ascend the hill upon which Rob's villa is perched, you feel the sense of leaving the hustle and bustle behind, passing on your way a water buffalo in the tamed jungle (at this level) and an immaculately maintained golf course. If you are lucky you may even see a few elephants as we have! Perched on the hill is Rob's villa Samprasada. You are greeted with orange garlands of marigolds draped over the compound gate. Inside, the villa is beautifully and immaculately presented. Our family of five fell in love with the architecture, the lush and well-planted gardens, the antique and Thai mixed furniture and statues, and the most glorious outdoor tropical showers and baths. The subtlety of design and sublime use of lighting and sound makes you feel as if you really have entered into paradise. Words cannot do justice to the pool placed at the centre of the villa; fragile red and blue dragonflies do the mating dance as they follow you up and down the pool. From the main bedroom one opens the sliding door and slips effortlessly into the heavenly water. One could easily stay up here, away from it all, but if you need to venture out the upmarket Fisherman's Village with the most delectable cuisine is only a 5 minute drive away. We live in London but yet have found the best Indian food tucked away in Fisherman's village! Rob, a most charismatic and attentive owner of this luxury property, has detailed information available for all his guests which cover the wide range of activities and attractions available in the area. Of course, beaches with azure blue crystal clear waters are only minutes away from the villa. We have returned to Samprasada a few times now and would highly recommend this property to anyone who seeks tropical luxury and total relaxation.

Wow Factor!

If you like nice, secluded, romantic places to spend with your better/worse half, then this villa is for you. Up on the hills you could be forgiven that you are away from the tourist crowds while in fact you are only minutes away from shops/restaurants etc

Wonderfully Romantic Villa

My wife and I recently returned from an absolutely fantastic vacation in Koh Samui. What made this trip just perfect for us wasn't the island itself so much, but rather our decision to rent the house, Villa Samprasada. Everything is very well maintained: the pool immaculate, all those fantastic lights for creating mood in the evening functioned wonderfully, speaker zones throughout the villa to create just the right musical mood, charming landscaping, screaming fast wireless Internet, big flat screen Tv's, a kitchen stocked with everything you could possibly need. It's quite obvious the owner cares a lot about the place and that he himself visits on a regular basis. Renting the house was extremely easy, from the initial contact with Rob the owner, to being picked up at the airport by the smiling face of 'Oh', the young woman who manages the villa.Upon arrival there was tons of fresh fruit laid out, bottled water stocked up, really all you have to do is buy some food and start living like a local. The house sits up on a hill which overlooks the ocean. We drove into town most days, sometimes walked the beach, shopped for fresh seafood and fruits at the market, and would eagerly return to the villa to relax and look forward to an evening of fresh drinks, steamed clams and grilled fish in the comfort and privacy of our own home. Even though the view of the ocean is there as you drive down the hill for supplies, the house itself does not have a view of the ocean; probably it's only down side. But, realistically, if it did have a view of the sea, the price would be three times as high and I certainly could not have afforded it. During the day, you open up all the sliding glass doors and the whole villa flows from inside to out, calling you to the pool for a swim or a lounge. The second bedroom is just as lovely as the master, but truthfully, I'd be hesitant to share the place with anyone else.Villa Samprasada is a very romantic spot. S.L. - Dhaka

The worst part of the stay, was having to leave..

The owner, Rob, was in-touch as soon as we initially made contact inquiring about the property. He explained everything completely and succinctly. He even forwarded guides not only for the property but also about Thailand in general. Great because I had never been to Thailand before. We were met at the Koh Samui airport by his residence manager "Oh" and driven to the property. I can't describe the, well, magic we felt upon being ushered into the villa by Oh on the evening of our arrival. The lights were on and the palm trees, paths and pool glowing. It's truly an incredible layout and I can't compliment the property enough. Elegant, perfectly maintained and open with a speaker system throughout, it was the ideal place to just Be and not Do. That's mostly what we did: swimming, reading, dozing, swimming, evening cocktails and dinner from the grill. Lather, rinse, repeat. Like I said, magic. Otherwise, taking a rental car as recommended was the best choice. With that, we could drive the few minutes down the hill to Bophut/Fisherman's Village and around the island without a worry. Pretty much anything you wanted was available locally, with 3 large supermarkets to choose from. Chaweng was just a few minutes away. Also, Rob had some groovy dining and activity recommendations in his guide we took advantage of that were spot on. Oh was always available to help with anything we needed ("Thanks again, Oh!"). Liked best: Waking up in the morning and taking two steps to plunge into the pool. Liked least: Leaving. We were actually resentful we had to go. And that has never happened to me in a vacation spot before.

We loved our stay, the perfect relaxing holiday home.

I will begin with the lovely pool, as this is where we spent most of our time. Other than the sala with the fan whirling overhead with a cold drink in hand. Oh yes, the pool. Well, perfect!! You could chose to sit on the steps in the morning having your coffee while watching the dragon flies flit around. Or when the heat of the afternoon becomes too much you can lie on the raised end half submerged in the water with a book in hand. Or you could just use the inflatable lie-lows and float around to your hearts content. Or, when you return from Bophut afer dinner and have that refreshing midnight swim. That is how we enjoyed the private pool!! Now for the rest of the villa. A good nights sleep was had during our 7 night stay in the comfortable bed located in the master bedroom pavilion. Our view faced on the pool length way and the other bedroom pavilion faces the pool and looked equally as comfortable and spacious. This would be a great place for two couples or a family to holiday. The shower is huge with a rain head. the sink and toilet located just a small hall way from the bedroom. The hall from the bedroom to the bathroom area has a small single bed. closet space. and a washer/dryer. The perfect place for luggage and clothing. We did not cook much, as there are too many great places to eat out. But you have everything you need to create a great meal in the kitchen and bar b q located next to the outdoor dining area. The indoor living area is very nice, but really the best place to sit is outside, as the dining area and sala are undercover. We really loved sitting in the sala at any time of the day relaxing and at the end of the evening enjoying the ambiance of the villa. The location is up the hill amongst the coconut trees about 5 minutes from the Fisherman's village. The owner provides a fantastic detailed guide of what to do and where to eat. We hired a vehicle from his villa manager Khun Oh. This gives you flexibility to go where you want and when you want at very reasonable prices. The location was so convenient to Bophut, Tesco, the local market and please go to the walking street on a Friday night at the Fisherman's village. We had so much fun eating all the great food and listening to the local band and having drinks from "Save water drink cocktails" for 60 baht. Our favorite place to eat was the Shack, not really Thai food. But such good ribs, steaks, and crab legs done over a charcoal grill. We are not into Chewang and really found the Bophut area perfect. Okay, this is not the place for the perfect white sand beach walk, but that is not far away. Not far from the villa on the road heading out to Bophut instead of turning left to go to the village you turn right to take the short cut to Tesca Lotus, there is a great little cafe open from 11:00 called Nina's. Great food, clean and great prices. The wi fi was fast. There is an extensive choice of tv chanels on offer. The best we had in KS. I could even watch my beloved All Blacks play on the sports chanel. For privacy, relaxation, chilling out away from crowded resorts but not far from the action this is THE place to stay and we hope to have the privalege to do so in the future. Serenity in paradise

Do yourself a favour...don't ask if you can afford this place, ask if you can afford to miss it. If you are looking for peace, beauty and luxury, this is the place. Built in the classic indoor/outdoor style of walled, compound living, this villa is a jewel nestled high in the jungle hills above Bophut. Everything you could want or need is available to you as far as daily requirements, but add to these the private pool, the tranquil outdoor sala, the excellent outdoor speaker system, the super-comfy beds, the outdoor tubs and shower, the wonderful decor and foliage, and you are in heaven. The owner, even via email, is welcoming and charming, and Oh, who manages the house, is very helpful and attended to our few small requests swiftly and efficiently. You will need to arrange transportation as walking into the village is a very steep journey which is punishing in the heat. Rob's warnings about renting a scooter as opposed to a car should be heeded. If you are not an experienced motorcycle driver and you are not experienced with Asian road rules (or lack of them) you will be happier (and safer) with a car. The one problem with the villa is that it is so welcoming, so tranquil and comfortable that you won't want to leave. It's very easy to pass a day lounging around the pool, especially if the monsoons are rolling in and you don't want to get trapped in town in the rain - the neighborhood frogs will warn you of any upcoming rainy spells! But do yourself a favour, explore this beautiful island and meet some of the warm and friendly Thai people.

The Villa is in the Bophut Hills of Koh Samui, approximately 4 to 5 minutes drive to Bophut Beach and Fisherman's Village. You are approximately a 15 to 20 minute drive from Chaweng Beach. The airport is approximately 10 minutes away.

* While you can rent a car from Hertz, Avis, or Budget at the airport or other island rental companies, most of our renters seem to rent directly from "Lek" for approximately THB1,000 a day
* Rafts for the pool! Float the day away!

Cancellation Policy

No refunds, so we always recommend trip cancellation insurance.

Payment Terms

We accept wire transfer, Visa or MasterCard. 50% due upon signing, and balance of 50% due within one month of arrival, or two months for December holiday periods through to end of February. We recommend you buy trip cancellation insurance!. $500 security deposit will be due within three days of arrival, and from this we will deduct 8 Baht a unit for electricity. (So far, no one has done any damage to the villa).

You have a complete assortment of restaurants here...Italian, French, Mexican, Thai, Steak Seafood, Indian.... Due to the hillside location of the villa you should rent a vehicle. Rental vehicles can be easily arranged to suit your requirements. You can take taxis, but it is easier to rent a vehicle or motorcycle. Due to safety on the island, we always recommend that people rent vehicles over motorbikes.

You are guaranteed a unique holiday experience when you stay here and we hope you love the villa as much as we do.

If you like to cook, the kitchen is extremely well equipped to prepare fantastic meals, or go to the backyard and use the gas bbq. You can buy fish at the oceanside fish market just ten minutes away. For one stop shopping, Big C, Tesco/Lotus or Makro Cash and Carry which are all within a five to seven minute drive and have an enormous selection. If you are meat eaters and want to bbq steaks, we can steer you to the wholesale store where many restaurants buy their food.

As owners, we really care that you have a great visit to the island. Prior to your arrival, feel free to email with any questions you may have about the house or the island or things to do. Our home rental guide is also filled with favorite places we like to go for meals. And "Lek," who manages the house for us is fantastic. She will meet/greet you at the airport and help you with any questions you might have upon your arrival.
