Substantial villa with awesome staff

Spacious villa with loads of room for large groups. Decor is modern but charming and good blend of Balinese and European influences. The staff make this place....nothing is too much trouble and we were looked after very well by the butlers (Putu and Edy). The chef is fantastic and all the dishes on the menu were excellent, made with love and fresh ingredients! Only gripe was the air conditioning in the master suite does not work very well - hopefully they have fixed this now...it’s a very big room to keep cool! Local area is really up and coming with lots of new restaurants, shops, spa’s and bars on the way to the beach (20 min walk from villa).

Fantastic spot to celebrate a milestone

My extended family stayed at Chalina for my Mum's 70th in August. The villa is fabulous, a bit dated but it wasn't a concern. The chef and the staff were beyond fantastic and they made our week long stay unforgettable. The celebration they put together for my mum's actual birthday was sensational. The quality of the food was exceptional.

Beautiful grounds with average facilities and service

I have just returned from a week-long stay in Chalina estate in Canggu with my entire family of 9 adults and 7 children (aged between 4-18). I booked this villa through Luxury retreats. The handling of my booking with Luxury Retreats was average with some major miscommunication. I wouldn't recommend them. The villa itself: gorgeous grounds, lots of space to play or find a quiet spot to oneself. the pool is the highlight, the kids thoroughly enjoyed it. Pool toys would have made it even better. location is a good, 20-min drive to Canggu shops and 45min+ to Seminyak, if you don't mind being away from the action. the onsite staff were friendly and courteous. food prepared at the villa was average: nothing outstanding, better food can be found outside the villa. Chalina could improve with new pool towels, updated furnishings (tattered and ripped cushion covers), boutique toiletries, current reading material and DVDs. One more thing which was noted by many in our party, ALL the rooms are very dark. mood lighting is nice but when you can't see what is right in front of you, it might be a tad dark.

Wedding villa

My daughter had her wedding at this villa. It was absolutely amazing. The venue itself is very well maintained as is the gardens. The place is centred around a huge pool. The staff were just wonderful fulfilling every request. The food was beautiful. Words cannot describe how spectacular this place was when it was setup for the wedding. With the fairy light everywhere it was just amazing. We thank the staff of this venue for everything they did for us. You are all amazing

Great family stay

Great villa compound for a large group. All photos are exact and probably don't convey the beauty of the pool and gardens. Plenty of space to spread out, food was amazing as were the staff. Highly recommend especially if spreading the cost amongst the group...makes Chalina exceptionally good value for the standard offered when looked at it on a person by person basis. Out of the way so the car is needed

Fantastic surrounds, attentive staff

Chalina Estate is a series of villas about 30-45 minutes drive north of Kuta. The estate itself looks beautiful with lush green lawns, manicured gardens and a huge pool being the first things you notice when walking through the entrance. A large covered area acts as an outdoor dining and lounge room. There is also a stereo system which you can connect your iPod or phone to, with speakers located all throughout (including near the pool area). The rooms themselves are clean and spacious, with huge bathrooms. Be sure to ask the staff to leave the air conditioners on in the villas because otherwise the Bali heat will make them quite warm. Chalina Estate is perfect for groups, with attentive staff - including a private chef - always on hand to assist.

fantastic villa for a large family group

We recently stayed at Villa Chalina for 8 nights and enjoyed every moment in this gorgeous place being looked after by the most attentive and kind staff.We had a great time swimming in the lovely huge pool and being fed delicious food cooked by a great chef.The staff were amazing and anticipated our every need in a very unassuming manner. I can't wait to go back again !!!!

Chalina Estate is located in the traditional village of Pererenan in the district of Canggu on Bali's south-west coast. Surrounded by terraced rice fields, it is only five minutes' walk from the nearest beach. The property enjoys a private setting yet it is within convenient distance of the beach, attractions, restaurants, bars and nightclubs of cosmopolitan Seminyak. The world famous Echo Beach where guests can enjoy the laid-back surfer vibe and incredible sunsets is also within easy reach. The wave-lashed sea temple at Tanah Lot and neighbouring Nirwana Bali Golf Course are just a fifteen minute drive away.

Cancellation Policy

If the Guest wishes to cancel a confirmed booking, written notice of cancellation must be sent to the manager. All cancellation notices received by the manager will be acknowledged in writing. It is strongly recommended that the Guest and all members of the Guest's party purchase trip cancellation insurance.

Cancellation of a booking includes but is not limited to:
* Cancellation of one or more days of a booking.
* An amendment of a booking so that none of the dates of the booking once amended fall within the same dates that originally constituted the booking.
* Failure of all Guests to provide the required documentation on arrival (eg. Passports or suitable identification).
* Attempt by the Guest, their party or visitors to hold an event at the Property in breach of these Terms and Conditions or breach of any rules applicable to the Guest's chosen Property.

In the event that the Guest cancels a confirmed booking, the following cancellation fees will generally apply:
* 20% of the total rental amount will be forfeited if the cancellation is made more than 60 days before the start of the rental period.
* 50% of the total rental amount will be forfeited if the cancellation is made between 30 and 60 days before the start of the rental period.
* 100% of the total rental amount will be forfeited if the cancellation is made between 1 and 29 days before the start of the rental period.

The applicable amount will be deducted from the deposit and moneys paid, and the manager will refund any remaining balance to the Guest.

Please note that these cancellation terms apply for regular booking periods. Special cancellation terms may apply for peak/high seasons and will be stated in the Property description, booking confirmation or reservation voucher. If the information in any of these is inconsistent, the most recently issued terms will prevail.

Payment Terms

When the Guest makes a booking request, the Guest must make the appropriate deposit payment to EH within 5 working days of availability confirmation. If the required deposit payment is not received within the 5 working day period, EH reserves the right to void the Guest’s booking request. The following deposit payment applicable to most villas (see individual villa terms for full details) must be received by EH:
For villas in Indonesia, Thailand and Sri Lanka:
For rentals beginning more than 75 days after the date of the booking request – a deposit of 20% of the total rental amount is payable For rentals beginning 75 days or less after the date of the booking request – the total rental amount is payable as a deposit
Where a 20% deposit applies to the booking, the Guest must pay the remaining 80% balance not less than 75 days before the scheduled arrival date.
For all other countries:
For rentals beginning more than 60 days after the date of the booking request – a deposit of 50% of the total rental amount is payable For rentals beginning 60 days or less after the date of the booking request – the total rental amount is payable as a deposit
Where a 50% deposit applies to the booking, the Guest must pay the remaining 50% balance not less than 60 days before the scheduled arrival date.

Classic bali villa with rice field views

The serene riverside setting of Chalina Estate makes it the ultimate choice for weddings and special retreats. Channelling the energy of its beautiful surroundings, it showcases the true essence of Bali with its classic architecture, lush tropical gardens and rice-field views. Fully staffed and Boasting a deluxe 30-metre swimming pool and lavish living areas, this exquisite villa exudes space and charm.

Chalina Estate’s main two-storey residence houses four bedrooms and a bunk room for ten, while three further bedrooms are situated in individual pavilions leading down towards the river. Each of Chalina Estate’s ensuite bedroom is air-conditioned and features black-out curtains, a flat-screen TV and DVD player and a small fridge. There are two master suites with one providing incredible views over the garden and rice fields and the other presents stunning views across the pool and garden.The pool room downstairs looks over the pool and can be accessed from the garden. Off the bedroom, there is a separate dressing area and an ensuite bathroom.

Three guest bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms face the pool in stand-alone pavilions, each with a patio from which to enjoy the view. The main highlight of Chalina Estate is the 30 x 8-metre swimming pool that overlooks the sloping garden and neighbouring rice fields. A floating gazebo is accessed by a walkway from one side of the pool, offering a great massage platform. The impeccably manicured lawns are surrounded by coconut palms and dotted with fragrant frangipanis and provide a wonderfully natural setting for yoga and meditation as well as weddings and special events.
