Nice place, some room for improvement

The bungalow is situated in fairly secluded area. The place was well kept and clean. The place had two chefs/helpers. There are two access roads, one is way too narrow even for a car. The rooms were a bit too small to my liking and had trouble with the television and fans not working properly. The 'helpers' did just the bare minimum needed. The bungalow had all other facilities like microwave, fridge, cable tv, bluray player, water heater and even a water dispenser. All in all, a decent place to spend a night with a bunch of friends.

Excellent

Excellent place located within a peaceful atmosphere. The backyard spans across a wide area that ends with the shore of the Koggala lake and the swimming pool. The bungalow consists of 4 air conditioned rooms with 2 bathrooms, kitchen and the living area. Booze and food (Vegetables, Meat, etc.) has to be brought by the guests and the staff will prepare them as required. Perfect place for a getaway with friends and family.

Tranquillity at its best

If you are looking for calm surroundings complete with serene views, definitely visit Lumbini Lagoon. The poolside scenery, expansive gardens and mouth watering dishes made our stay as a group of 8 adults and 3 children all the more special. Sisira and Kavin took great care of us during our stay and Kavinda was a knowledgeable host who helped us with any queries prior to our stay. Will definitely be recommending Lumbini Lagoon.

Excellent Place for a family vacation

I highly recommend this place for a family vacation. Great location, Scenic view across the lake, so serene and peaceful. Really great food. The service provided is excellent. Would highly recommend this place for your perfect holiday.

Paradise

We were a party of 8 adults, stayed 4 wonderful days at Lumbini Lagoon and enjoyed every moment. The villa has 4 separate bedrooms, 3 baths, living room and kitchen. Huge garden overlooking the lake. We had breakfast in the gazebo on the lake shore, after a morning swim in the pool. The staff that are resident on the premises looked after us very well, served a great breakfast and when we asked for it also dinner. Much better than staying in one of the hotels on the busy coast road. Mosquitoes are not as bad as you can expect next to the lake, nets over the beds kept them out and lots of citronella candles. We enjoyed the abundant animal life in the garden, including iguanas, birds and monkeys. Try the boat tour on the lake organized by the villa owners, for a visit to an island where cinnamon is grown and produced, and a small Buddhist temple

Perfect - book it!

Wonderful in every way. I highly recommend this haven. Beautiful garden. Wonderful villa. Great location. Fantastic view across the lake, so serene and peaceful. Really great food. Beach is near by and our host was a brilliant guide. We took a boat ride on the lake and stopped at various locations. Also nearby is the sea turtle hatchery where we saw beautiful turtles including many cute baby turtles. Our host could not be more accommodating, nothing too much trouble. Book it! You won't be disappointed.

Magnifique !!!

Au delà d'un cadre idyllique et d'un calme absolu, lumbini est un havre de paix en pleine nature. La proximité du lac attire une faune incroyable: singes, écureuil, oiseaux.... La piscine au bord du lac est un must. Les plages et spots de surf sont à 5 minutes de la villa. Les repas et le petits déjeuners confectionnés par la cuisinière sont fabuleux. Le propriétaire est très attentioné Nous avons passé un séjour inoubliable dans ce bel écrin de végétation

Very relaxed and fully recharged stay in this green paradise

me and my friends stayed here for 3 days. Amazing quietness here outside the hectic beach road, but still only a few minutes away from the beach. We had every day their good breakfast by the pool and also the served lunches and dinners were tasty. So easy, almost like living in a fully serviced hotel as the staff lives in a house nearby. The owner was so kind and took us to the beaches and Galle with his minivan. The house itself is almost brand new, so no complaints. In the mornings we did yoga in the garden and listened the sounds of the jungle. Many monkeys living also nearby:) I can warmly recommend this place for your perfect holiday in southern Sri lanka.

Away from it all, but close to it all!

For a simple, tranquil, away from it all break in SW Sri Lanka, this is the place. Here is a 4 bedroom bungalow, newly opened, in a large, well-tended, newly established garden with its own wonderfully sited swimming pool overlooking Lake Koggala where the birdlife is varied and colourful, and pretty monkeys perform acrobatics in the trees and occasionally scamper noisily over the roof - but never come indoors. There are no other houses in sight although the islands in the lake do appear to shield the odd grand residence. The owner, who has recently returned to Sri Lanka fom 9 years in the UK, could not be more charming or obliging, whether it be in organizing a boat trip on the lake, finding out about train times or even driving us to and from a nearby hotel for dinner. He always went the extra mile, and then a bit more! His staff are very friendly. The house has 4 comfortable double beds (with excellent linen) and is airconditioned with ceiling fans. Two of the three shower-rooms are modern and simply but practically fitted, the third one is adequate but not to the same standard. The kitchen area is intended for very simple self-catering and the crockery etc reflects this. The fridge needs replacing. Meals are generally prepared for guests on site and served at the dining table or outside under one of the verandahs or in a romantic round wooden open-sided “pavilion” by the lake. There is a huge flat screen television. Although the property is so quiet and secluded, it is within easy reach by car or tuk tuk of the popular and stunning coastline with its beaches and hotels. Galle Fort is not far. For four adults and two small children, this provided an ideal place to stay which we would definitely recommend and is value for money.

From Kathaluwa junction on the Galle road, go inland for 1KM until you see our sign board named 'Lumbini Lagoon'. Turn left and the villa is just 50 metres.

Cancellation Policy

In case of cancellation of a Confirmed Booking, the following cancellation charges will be payable by the Client, depending on the period of stay and the cancellation notification date:
Prime Season Bookings, cancellation notified at least 30 days prior to arrival:
- All money paid is forfeited but credited for 9 months from the date of reception of the cancellation.
- The credit value can be used by the client or anyone on his behalf during any period, subject to availability and solely for the Property initially booked.
Cancellation notified within 30 prior to arrival:
- All money received will be forfeited.
High Season: All funds received will be forfeited or refund in pro rate should ALT or the Manager/Owner source a replacement booking.
Failure for the guest to pay the balance in time, modification of booking period and early departure is deemed a cancellation and cancellation charges will be payable unless otherwise agreed in writing.
All cancellation charges paid by a Guest will be considered as rental revenue and commission due to ALT will be paid a commission fee as per section 3 herein in pro rate of the amount received.

Payment Terms

1.A deposit of thirty percent (30%) of the total rental amount including service charge and taxes, if applicable, must be paid by the client within 5 days working days after reception of the invoice sent by ALT to confirm the Booking. In the meantime, the Manager/Owner agree to provide ALT with an exclusive option on the tentative dates of stay. Extension of the option may be granted by the Manager/Owner out of goodwill
3. For all Last Minute Booking (made less than 30 days prior to arrival) and regardless of the duration of stay or the season, the full payment will be required from the client so as to secure the booking
4. All payments must be done through bank transfer

Description

Think of Lumbini Lagoon as your home

What we pride on ourselves the most is being able to give you a the most personal service possible. Sheila our resident cook and caretaker, along with her team will ensure that they to their utmost to make your stay a most pleasurable one.

The villa has a total of four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Each bedroom is appointed with plush four poster beds that will ensure the best sleep you have had in years. The villa also has a fully equipped kitchen if you want to whip up something quick. The large verandahs are where you will while away your time the most, gazing across Koggala lake, sipping on cocktails.

Keeping oneself occupied is not going to pose much of a challenge at Lumbini. Take a dip in the pool whilst gazing at the beauty of Koggala lake. If you are with a family, the kids will love the large tropical garden where they can while their day away. A boat ride on the lake is also not to be missed, where one can visit the plantations where the world famous Ceylon cinnamon is produced.

There are plenty of things to do in and around the villa - A boat ride can be arranged to explore the picturesque koggala lake which contains the famous Madol Doova island, birds island which is home to a large variety of bird species, The waeduwa Buddhist temple, Giniwella Buddhist temple which housed the first-ever printing press in Sri Lanka, a cinnamon plantation and a fish spa.

The Martin Wickramasinghe museum is a short drive away - and contains various artefacts belonging to the famous author of the same name and other cultural artefacts of the surrounding region

The habaraduwa turtle hatchery is also a short drive away. Whale watching in Mirissa (20 km from the villa) can be arranged on request.

There are many bars and restaurants in the neighbourhood and some fantastic surf spots.
