Beautiful Villa but a long way out of Ubud

This is a difficult review to write. Villa Cemedik is a beautiful Villa and a lovely place to stay. The staff were amazing and so accommodating – they couldn’t do enough for us. The villa itself is beautifully appointed and absolutely met our brief of 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a pool and a communal living area. We stayed for 6 nights. When we were looking for accommodation we wanted to be private and outside the hustle and bustle of Ubud however we had really no idea of just how far out of Ubud we were. The brief on the Villa Cemedick website was accurate as it said that it was a 20 min drive from Ubud but there was no further information as to how we could get in and out of Ubud other than that there was a driver available. This is essentially correct and we cannot fault our driver but as a group of what was essentially 3 couples, all having different needs and ideas as to how they wanted to spend their Ubud holiday, the logistics around transport became a source of tension and a huge point of difference between us. As well as that, we (understandably) had to pay for every trip in and out of Ubud and when you are doing that 3 – 4 times a day the cost mounts up and none of us had actually budgeted for that additional cost. Availability of food was also a bit of a problem – we had to make sure we did a supermarket run in Ubud at least twice so that we could cook for ourselves as a family when we wanted to and to have fruits and other snacks (and beers) available to us at our convenience. Made, the Villa manager and his team could not have been nicer and were willing to cook for us three times a day if we wanted to, but we also wanted the flexibility of getting up when we wanted to (at different times) and just making breakfast for ourselves so again, making that happen required another round of negotiations, logistics and financial management. If I could uproot the Villa and the staff relocate it 5 minutes out of Ubud I would 100% recommend it and stay there again but unless you have your own means of transport or you only stay one or two nights and were just there to rest and relax and had no need to venture in to Ubud I am unable to recommend it due to all of the issues detailed above. I want to stress again that this in no way reflects on the wonderful and hospitable staff as they were faultless.

Things to do around the area: Village Trekking, Rice Paddy Trekking, visiting some temples or doing other nature sports, Ubud is only 20 minutes driving. Getting around – the best way to get around the area is by car, walking, cycling or by motorbike. 50 minutes from the beaches and 20 minutes driving to the centre of Ubud

Cancellation Policy

The following cancellation charges will be applicable depending on when the notification of the cancellation is received in writing:

30 days or more before arrival date:
* Deposit forfeited - but credited for 9 months from the date of the cancellation confirmation by the management company. The credit can be used by the client or anyone on their behalf for a reservation for the same villa and during any period.

Within 30 days of arrival date:
* All rental payments are forfeited.
* The above cancellation charges also apply if the management company cancels the booking due to non-payment of the balance. If the dates of the booking require to be changed or amended, this may be treated as a cancellation of the original booking and cancellation charges may apply.
* Any change to the original reservation is subject to the approval of the management company.
* Early departure penalty will be subject to negotiation with the management company.

Shall the party wish to change villa on arrival, a minimum 3 days notice is required or will be charged as a cancellation fee. Any differences in published rates between the villas are also applicable and will be charged to the Guests. Shall the alternative villa be cheaper, no refund will be made.

Payment Terms

Deposit Payment
* To guarantee this booking in the first instance, you will be required to pay a deposit equivalent to 30% of the total rental due or 50% for Christmas and New Year period.

Balance payment
* Full balance is due at least 30 days prior to arrival

Last minute reservation
* In case of reservation within 30 days of arrival, full payment may be requested at once before the arrival date

Kindly inform upon confirmation of your reservation, which form of payment would be preferred.
* Payments may be made by Telegraphic Transfer to our company bank account or through an online payment gateway with your credit card (visa or master card).
* If payment by credit card is preferred this will incur a 3.9% admin fee.

Description

Welcome to Villa Cemadik

Set amongst the uninterrupted rice fields at the front of the villa and the nature sound of nature at night. Goa Gajah – the famous elephant cave is only 10 minutes drive, while the Ubud market is accessible within 15 minutes, and the Ngurah Rai International Airport can be reached in around 1 hour. The villa has 3 en-suite bedrooms which set in Balinese architecture.

Build on flat ground; Villa Cemadik combined Balinese architecture with modernity to meet the idea of luxury accommodation in Bali. Shades of Asian and the Western are applied to provide harmonization that brings admiration. Each room furnished with queen-sized beds, showers and wardrobes, as well as air conditioners. In order to give natural impression, decoration is put in soft colors but still gives luxurious look. The bedrooms are designed to bring the comfort so you can wake up the next morning with a happy feeling.

The swimming pool that is situated behind of court yard just infront of rice field. Beautiful scenery can be enjoyed through the spacious living room, where you can spend all day to fully relax. The services provided will give satisfaction to the guests.
