Paradise!

What a stunning property and location! Absolutely gorgeous villa with beautiful beach. The property is huge with very spacious rooms. Design is ultra modern and chic! The staff were super attentive and the food delicious. This is one of the best villas that I have stayed. Thanks to Villa Manager, Kantun and his staff for making our stay special!

Perfect Group Getaway

This was our third times staying at Villa Sapi and it was just as perfect as the first time. We have stayed at many villas throughout Bali and Lombok and most villas tend to deteriorate and run down very quickly but not villa Sapi. The villa was just as perfect the third time as when we first stayed there 3 years ago. The villa is extremely well maintained and the staff are doing a brilliant job at keeping it top notch. All the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful and accommodating. The chef, however, needs a special mention as he is absolutely amazing!! Every meal of everyday was gourmet and perfectly prepared and presented. The villa location is perfect for a family or group of friends getting together. We loved every minute of our stay and didn't want to leave. All our friends and family that we've taken there all loved it and all wanted to come back. We will be back again for sure!!

Perfect place for vacation

In November we stayed at Villa Sapi for ten days, we were a group of 8 people. We loved that place, the pools, the beach, the houses, the big garden around and all the facilities. The service was great, no wish left! We also liked the food, especially the great choice! Unforgettable are the dinners we had right by the see in the sand! Thank you all for making our holidays a wonderful event!

Beyond words.....

The term 'dream holiday' can often be an overused phrase. Not in this case of Villa Sapi. We were lucky enough to be able to spend the whole month of August there and it was the was the most truly the most amazing experience. Words cannot do it justice, it is a place of deep feelings that must be experienced. It will always be marvelled at architecurally and geographically but undoubtedly the jewel in the crown are the inspiring team who will make every minute one to savour. They are the most beautiful, honest and soulful people you could ever wish to meet. We will regard each and every one of them as friends for life. Thank you Villa Sapi. See you in 2018!!

Outstanding - well beyond expectations

The beach, the buildings, the rooms, the staff, the food - all amazing. The staff here make the place, the attention to minor details, the pride and the ever present smiles are all an every day occurrence. 3 meals a day that are presented with impeccable attention to detail with flavors both local and international that ensured that every meal was one to behold. The idyllic location is tranquil and stunning to behold with the design of the living space set to capture all that is offered. The beach at the doorstep is amazing and the infinity pool that licks its edges is one that invites at all hours of the day. Its not often that my expectations are exceeded in the travel world, but on this occasion, they were. A must at least once in your life.

Thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended

My brother's family and mine (9 in all) stayed a week at Villa Sapi and all agreed that it was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable holidays we have had. The staff were superb - attentive whilst being discrete, very professional and skilled in their respective roles. The grounds are beautiful and nicely maintained and the villa and cottage are interesting spacious,comfortable liveable architecture. Food was really excellent - make sure you plan some strenuous activities between meals!

Spectacular

We stayed at Villa Sapi for a week as a family for a week and it was truely an amazing experience. We booked through Luxury Retreats and their service was faultless. We arrived at the Villa and we were blown away by how beautiful it was. The location right on the beach created a really relaxing environment and the villa staff were amazing. The chef turned out beautiful food from the kitchen and the overall service experience from the entire team made our stay very special. We have travelled a lot and I would rate this place as one of the better places we've stayed for an Island holiday. We will be back. Its a beautiful villa.

A hard to reach, luxury haven on Lombok

We were a group of three families, each two adults and two children under the age of 10. We were easily accommodated within the Villa's five main bedrooms plus a study / office which was converted to a bedroom for the stay. Cleanliness, service and food were exceptional, with in house chef Sawat, formerly executive chef at the nearby Oberoi, in command of the kitchen. Full board at US$50 per adult and US$30 per child is expensive, but you will be getting some of the best food on Lombok, and all made fresh and to order. Two minor complaints: hot water could be a hit and miss affair, particularly in the master bedroom, and there are no sheets on the beds - just quilts - which inevitably means sleeping with the air conditioning on, which is not always ideal. The nearby beach has a reef which is accessible at low tide. Bring reef shoes, as the coral is sharp. The villa is serviced by a local Tanjung beauty salon, with massages, body treatments etc, available at realistic rates - about US$20 for a massage for example, where you would pay US$5 if you went to the salon. Treatments are performed on site in a special massage bale. Very comfortable. A word on transport. The 2-hour trip through winding roads over the mountains from Praya airport is not particularly pleasant (particularly with kids susceptible to car sickness) and, if you are arriving at Denpassar (there are no direct flights from Australia any more), the connections to the local Garuda flight are terrible. There are a couple of other options that we would take in future being (1) the fast ferry from Denpassar to Lombok, which arrives in the local port a short 30 minute drive to the Villa; or (2) far more desirably, you can charter a helicopter from Denpassar Airport which will land at the Oberoi, which is only a 15 minute drive. To save you potentially a day of messing about with transfers, it is worth it.

Not enough superlatives!

We stayed at V. Sapi for 7 nights in April '15, and on the 6th night used the villa as our wedding venue. So I think it is fair to say, judging by other reviews, that unlike many groups that seem to stay we actually stretched the capacity of the villa to it's maximum, not that you would have noticed. The manager and staff handled the week impeccably. All days bar the day of the wedding were just like a holiday, which is exactly what we had hoped for. We had all bedrooms occupied including the study, the staff had no problems at all with this, as guests we didn't feel like it was overcrowded at all. Every whim is attended to, from golf trips, snorkelling trips, specific requests, it seems nothing is too much for Pak Kantun and his team. And the villa is just great, the rooms, the artwork, the grounds, everything, just great! If it wasn't for the amount of food you get fed and need to work off you wouldn't actually need to leave at all... and there is always the tennis court for that! For food, we requested local fair for each day, it was also excellent. I would say the only criticism is that there was too much of it, not really accustomed to three course lunch AND dinner! Not that we would leave much (any) as it was all so good.. Another big testament to the villa & staff was on the day of our wedding, we had the maximum permitted guests for an event, maybe even just over, yet again thanks to the staff & management, it went perfectly. In the build up Pak Kantun simply said let us do the catering, two options of 5 course meals for around 50 people, as per our request, and we were blown away. You couldn't have found better anywhere, certainly not on Lombok. We had guests from Europe, New Zealand, Australia and Indonesia, and a common sentiment from many was that ours was one of the best weddings they had ever been to, a lot of this was down to the villa staff. I would say to anyone planning a wedding or an event at V. Sapi that it is worth it, though we felt like the max number of people was a little bit restrictive at first, having done the event, and (almost) sticking to that number, we now feel that it is for good reason that the number is what it is. Just a couple things to be aware of, these are not criticisms at all, running a villa like this in what is essentially a very remote location has its challenges of course. The local power supply is abysmal, so the villa has what is essentially it's own on site power station, occasionally the power goes out when the local supply switches to and from the on site supply, resetting A/C units etc. The internet isn't the best, though possibly the best available locally. Just be prepared for this, e-mails etc. are fine, massive downloads of something to watch in the media room on a rainy day.. not possible. These are simply facts of life where the villa is located, they do their absolute best to manage it, so one shouldn't let it detract from the overall experience, which is excellent. A big thanks to Pak Kantun and the whole V. Sapi team... we will be back one day!

Location

Villa Sapi is located at Sira (also spelt Sire), a spur of land bordered by a white ribbon of beach with magnificent coastline views. Just one kilometre from the villa is the Lombok Golf Kosaido Country Club, an 18-hole championship course, which is open to the public. 300m in the opposite direction is Hotel Tugu Lombok, a funky-fantastic, atmospheric living museum of extraordinary Indonesian antiques, with a restaurant and bar. Tanjung (4km) is an attractive Sasak market village with stalls overflowing with local produce; this is also home to The Oberoi Lombok Hotel, complete with a jetty should you arrive by boat and a gourmet restaurant.

Cancellation Policy

If the Guest wishes to cancel a confirmed booking, written notice of cancellation must be sent to the manager. All cancellation notices received by the manager will be acknowledged in writing. It is strongly recommended that the Guest and all members of the Guest's party purchase trip cancellation insurance.

Cancellation of a booking includes but is not limited to:
* Cancellation of one or more days of a booking.
* An amendment of a booking so that none of the dates of the booking once amended fall within the same dates that originally constituted the booking.
* Failure of all Guests to provide the required documentation on arrival (eg. Passports or suitable identification).
* Attempt by the Guest, their party or visitors to hold an event at the Property in breach of these Terms and Conditions or breach of any rules applicable to the Guest's chosen Property.

In the event that the Guest cancels a confirmed booking, the following cancellation fees will generally apply:
* 20% of the total rental amount will be forfeited if the cancellation is made more than 60 days before the start of the rental period.
* 50% of the total rental amount will be forfeited if the cancellation is made between 30 and 60 days before the start of the rental period.
* 100% of the total rental amount will be forfeited if the cancellation is made between 1 and 29 days before the start of the rental period.

The applicable amount will be deducted from the deposit and moneys paid, and the manager will refund any remaining balance to the Guest.

Please note that these cancellation terms apply for regular booking periods. Special cancellation terms may apply for peak/high seasons and will be stated in the Property description, booking confirmation or reservation voucher. If the information in any of these is inconsistent, the most recently issued terms will prevail.

Payment Terms

Payment:
When the Guest makes a booking request, the Guest must make the appropriate deposit payment to EH within 5 working days of availability confirmation. If the required deposit payment is not received within the 5 working day period, EH reserves the right to void the Guest’s booking request. The following deposit payment applicable to most villas (see individual villa terms for full details) must be received by EH:
For villas in Indonesia, Thailand and Sri Lanka:
For rentals beginning more than 75 days after the date of the booking request – a deposit of 20% of the total rental amount is payable For rentals beginning 75 days or less after the date of the booking request – the total rental amount is payable as a deposit
Where a 20% deposit applies to the booking, the Guest must pay the remaining 80% balance not less than 75 days before the scheduled arrival date.
For all other countries:
For rentals beginning more than 60 days after the date of the booking request – a deposit of 50% of the total rental amount is payable For rentals beginning 60 days or less after the date of the booking request – the total rental amount is payable as a deposit
Where a 50% deposit applies to the booking, the Guest must pay the remaining 50% balance not less than 60 days before the scheduled arrival date.

Description

Beachfront modern villa perfect for vacation

Five-bedroomed Villa Sapi is a masterpiece of design on the peaceful island of Lombok. Bordered by the almost deserted Sira Beach against a backdrop of soothing seas, soaring peaks and sensational sunsets, it presents funky architecture, three swimming pools plus a children's pool, a stand-alone two-bedroomed guesthouse, a tennis court, exemplary service and gourmet cuisine.

This is tropical living and barefoot luxury at its very best; a place where guests can truly escape. Villa Sapi is secluded and lusciously private but by no means isolated; prestigious neighbours include the Lombok Golf Kosaido Country Club, Hotel Tugu and The Oberoi, and the coral-fringed Gilli Islands, with their superb dive sites, are just a short boat ride away.

Canadian architect David Lombardi's concept of 'Function over Form' leaves Villa Sapi's guests with a sense of discovery and surprise at every turn, from the traditionally styled, grass-roofed building that houses the main kitchen to a futuristic home theatre. Furnishings carry a signature colour theme of black, red and lime green, while the walls are adorned with flair - bamboo, water cascades and conceptual artwork. The first clue to the quirky nature of the artwork is a white sculpture in the coconut grove garden which, in huge black letters, suggests that we should 'Stop Making Sense'.

The view from the villa's open-sided living and dining room, bedrooms and bathrooms is unrivalled; here guests can look forward to a vista that is ever-changing with the moods of the sea, sky, neighbouring islands, distant mountains, forests and colourful fishing boats. At night, after a magnificent sunset, the scene becomes even more magical as the moon's reflection twinkles on the water, presenting a picture of tranquillity and unforgettable beauty.

A full team of staff is on hand at Villa Sapi to look after every guest's need with superb cuisine and service. The villa's manager, chef and head butler were all previously employed by The Oberoi Hotel Group and have been trained to the highest level. A wide range of activities is available to villa guests, including golf, snorkelling, diving, waterfall hikes and mountain trekking, cycling, day trips to the nearby Gili Islands, cooking classes and more.

There is a sweet story behind the villa's name. The huge coconut grove on which the property stands used to be grazing land for cows, the most treasured possessions of Lombok farmers, symbolising status, wealth and happiness. The owners decided that these graceful beasts should be rightfully honoured: Sapi means cow in the Indonesian language.

Villa Sapi rests within an expansive coconut-grove garden and comprises a main single-storey residence with a 25m swimming pool and a children's pool, plus a stand-alone guest pavilion with two more swimming pools, set well away from the main house. Also within the villa's grounds are a floodlit tennis court and a lumbung (traditional rice barn) massage pavilion.

The main building is entered via a timber pathway, lined with fire torches. This leads past a feature wall of bamboo and a cascading wall of water. Running parallel to the beachfront, the main building incorporates the living and dining areas, kitchens, three of the five bedrooms, the study and the home theatre.

The guest pavilion is built into a manmade hill capped with grass, and presents an open-sided sitting area and two bedrooms, one of which is semi-subterranean. Both bedrooms are complemented by a deck and a private swimming pool.

The main swimming pool extends for 25 metres between the beach and the main house. It is deep enough to dive into and has a springboard for that purpose. Sunloungers rest upon the grassy deck and a modern flat-roofed bale (relaxation pavilion) sits at one end. Running alongside the main pool is a shallow (80cm-deep) children's pool. Two more swimming pools serve the guesthouse on two different levels, both of them are bordered by small timber decks.
