Beautiful villa with exceptional views

We had the most fantastic stay at Suriyawatta. Sanjeewa and his team were exceptional in the way they looked after us, nothing was too much for them. Food was amazing, both for the adults and children, every day was a feast. The villa itself is beautifully appointed, with a well thought out design that allows plenty of space for children to run around. Lots of lovely spots to relax in the garden or by the pool. The view is outstanding, we sat watching the ocean for hours. Location wise it is lovely and peaceful, yet close enough to Galle (30 mins by car max) and a short Tuk Tuk to the surfing beaches around weligama. The only negative was having to leave!! Thank you to the whole team for a memorable stay.

Brilliant family beach villa

Located in Turtle Bay in Weligama, Suriyawatta is a very special villa designed with barefoot family holidays in mind. We were a family of 9 - 3 couples and 2 teenagers and a tween. I've stayed in more than a handful of villas on Sri Lanka's south coast and Suriyawatta is the clear winner! The location - perched on a hill side overlooking the Indian Ocean -- only a few minutes from the surf schools and conveniences of Weligama, walking distance to Cape Weligama Hotel (if you wanted a spa experience or a fancy night out). It's about 45 mins to Galle. But honestly, you won't want to leave. The house and garden have been designed to allow everyone their "own space together." There are ceiling fans every few feet on the wide verandah of the main house allowing the shade-seekers to see the ocean and the pool from the comfort of the verandah. The shadows in the garden from the frangipani trees are magical. There's a sound system (SONOS) with garden speakers. There's an infinity edge pool which enjoys both shade and sun. There is a seasonally safe swimming beach two houses down -- the walk along the beach is only possible at low tide and involves scrambling down some rocks, but it's super easy to walk from the house gate down the beach road (100 paces at most!). Sanjeewa and the household staff are wonderful. They are present but not hovering. The chef is very willing to try recipes. The house menu affords plenty of options for diverse palettes/tastes. We'll be back!

Amazing Villa and Villa team

Ou family had an amazing time at this villa, the staff attention to detail was fantastic, Incredible food, the booking service through Villas in Sri Lanka was easy and the concierge service made all transfers very easy. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great, relaxing villa. Thank you again to the whole team.

Best Villa Rented in Sri Lanka so far!

I would highly recommend Suriyawatta. We have rented a few villas in Sri Lanka and by far this one has been the best. Beautiful location, stunning views. Access to a private beach. Great staff. Tastefully furnished. Good food Everything was just perfect (Okay just one tiny thing - I would recommend they keep a range of toiletries in the bathroom) We had a great stay and really hope to be back

A magical place!

If you're looking for a true private holiday, this is the place! From arrival to check out we felt so well looked after and amazed about the house. It's about 2,5 hrs from Colombo airport. There are big gates when entering with security at the street gate and by the sea gate including the beautiful dog Lola. We slept 5 adults and to babies in this house but we had 2 rooms empty. One we used for massages. Lovely and very cheap. We did yoga one day with a local instructor which was fantastic. The staff are very helpful and kind. Chef cooked great meals which we decided ourselves. Try the hoppers in the morning w an egg in. Local breakfast - yummy. Lots of lovely fruits. We had BBQ (red snapper) one evening under the tree. Delicious and stunning setting. The pool is lovely and it's great for kids as there's a small shall area of the pool. But the pool is also fenced off from the house so it's safe for the kids. Sanjeeva- house manager was very professional and speaks perfect English. Around the area there's not much to see or do. I'd suggest you just stay in the house and enjoy the pool and the sea. Thank you very much again for looking after us.

Location

Suriyawatta is a family home perched above the ocean, about 40 mins from the historic town of Galle on the edge of the bay of Welligama. It is situated on a three quarter acre elevated land with terraces extending down to a beautiful and swimmable beach, which is protected by a coral reef. The Tabrobane Island is 5 minutes away while Weligama Bay and its surfing school and Mirissa Beach is also at a convenient distance. Guests staying in the villa can enjoy ready access to the idyllic coastal villages and sandy beaches of Unawatuna, Thalpe, Weligama, Merissa, Koggala, and Ahangama.

Cancellation Policy

* For cancellations more than 60 days before the arrival date 80% of the total rental amount, minus a USD 150 administration fee, will be refunded.
* For cancellations and/or amendments 30 - 60 days before the arrival date, 50% of the final booking amount, minus USD 150 in administration fees, will be refunded.
* For cancellations 1 - 29 days before the arrival date and for no -shows, no refund will be made.
* During peak periods, 30 days will be added to all cancellation periods.
* A refund may be offered, if the Villa is re-let for the same duration and at the same rates.
* Any amendments that reduce the total rental amount will be treated as a partial cancellation and may be subject to the cancellation fees stated above.
* Any amendments that involve the booking of another property altogether, will be treated as a cancellation of the original booking and the creation of a new one.
* In the unlikely event a villa booking is cancelled by the owner, the owner will attempt to secure a booking in an alternative property of the same standard, at the same rates. If this is not possible, a full refund will be made.

Payment Terms

* Prices quoted are in US Dollars, are listed by the Villa Owners and are subject to change without prior notice. However, once a deposit or payment has been received, the prices will not be amended for the dates of the rental.
* All payments are to be made in US dollars unless an exchange rate for other currencies has been agreed on prior to the payment being made.
* Bookings more than 30 days before the date of arrival will require a 50% deposit to confirm the booking. The full payment must be received 30 days (60 days if peak period) before the date of arrival. No reminder will be sent and failure to pay on time may result in a loss of the booking.
* Bookings made within 30 days of the date (60 days if peak period) of arrival, will require full payment.
* Once the deposit or payment has been received, a final booking confirmation will be sent.
* A security deposit equivalent of one night rent will be payable in US Dollars, in cash, on arrival at the villa. This deposit will be used against any damages or charges incurred during the stay. The difference or full amount will be returned in USD on the day of departure. If the charges cannot be determined at the time of departure, the Owner is entitled to withhold a reasonable estimate from your security deposit and will return any balance as soon as the actual cost has been determined.

Description

A spectacular beachfront property

Suriyawatta family home is named after the two large Tulip Trees that shade the south facing lawn and poolside. The 5 bedroom property consists of 2 doubles, 2 twin bedrooms and a 4 bed bunk room - all with ensuite bathrooms. 4 bedrooms are set in the main house and are centered around a courtyard while the 5th is located in a separate building close to the front door. The sitting room is fitted with entertainment facilities such as TV/DVD, surround sound etc. A terrace off the front t leads onto a small lawn with a child’s swing in one corner.

Suriyawatta has an open plan structure with French windows leading to terrace and garden and the ocean views beyond. The kitchen is inviting or can be left as the domain of the chef. The dining area has an impressive dining table with seating for ten. The master suite and the guest suite have four poster king sized beds while the guest twin suite has two 4 poster single beds. Bedroom 4 is also a guest twin suite with two 4 poster single beds while bedroom 5 is located in a separate building with two 4 poster single beds, which can be pushed together to make a double.

The lower terrace of Suriyawatta houses the pool. A few more steps lead down the garden and the private gate that opens onto a small beach and the lagoon that seasonally offers safe swimming and snorkling. The villa also has a boules court near its entrance. It is serviced by professional staff to take care of guests and ensure they have a unique and relaxing holiday experience. Guests travelling with kids will find the property to be very child-friendly. Baby cot, car seat and baby-sitting facilities can also be arranged if informed at the time of booking.
